Privacy
This site has one form on it. If you use it, we use what you tell us to reply to you. There is no analytics, no advertising, and nothing that follows you around the web. This page sets out the detail, because you are entitled to it.
The short version
- We collect what you type into the enquiry form, and nothing else about you.
- We use it to answer your enquiry. We do not add you to a mailing list.
- We do not sell, rent or share it for anyone else's marketing.
- There is no analytics and no tracking of any kind on this website.
- You can ask us what we hold, and ask us to delete it.

What we collect, and when
When you send an enquiry
- Your name and email address
- Required, so we can reply.
- Organisation and telephone number
- Optional. Only if you choose to give them.
- Area of interest and your message
- Required, so we understand what you are asking about.
Automatically, when anyone visits
Our web server records the usual technical information needed to serve and protect a website: your IP address, the pages requested, timestamps, and your browser's user-agent string. Your IP address is also used briefly to rate-limit the enquiry form, so it cannot be abused to send us hundreds of messages. We do not use any of this to build a profile of you.
Why we use it, and our lawful basis
We process enquiry details on the basis of our legitimate interests - specifically, responding to a business enquiry that you chose to send us, and keeping a record of the conversation that follows. We think this is what you would reasonably expect when you fill in a contact form, and it does not override your rights. If a project results, we may also process information because it is necessary for a contract between us.
Technical and security information is processed on the basis of our legitimate interest in keeping the site available and free from abuse.
Who else sees it
Your enquiry is delivered to us by email using SendGrid, a service operated by Twilio, acting as our processor. That means your message passes through their systems on its way to our inbox. SendGrid processes data outside the UK. Those transfers are covered by Twilio's Data Protection Addendum, which incorporates the UK International Data Transfer Agreement appended to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
Our website is hosted on a server in the United Kingdom. Beyond our hosting and email providers, we do not share enquiry information with anyone else unless we are legally required to.
How long we keep it
Enquiry correspondence is kept for as long as it is useful for the conversation it belongs to, and then deleted. [In practice we review enquiry email annually and delete anything older than 24 months that did not lead to a project.] Where an enquiry becomes a project, records are kept for as long as we need them for that work and for any legal, accounting or insurance obligation that follows it.
Cookies and what is stored on your device
This site sets one cookie, and only when a page containing the enquiry form is loaded. It is an anti-forgery token that proves a form submission came from this site rather than somewhere pretending to be it. It is strictly necessary for security, contains no information about you, and expires with your browser session. Because it is strictly necessary, no consent banner is required - and we would rather not put one in your way for something that does not track you.
The site also remembers your display preferences - theme, text size, contrast and which presentation you were viewing - using your browser's local storage. That information stays on your device. It is never sent to us and we cannot read it. Clearing your browser data removes it.
There is no analytics on this site. No Google Analytics, no advertising pixels, no session recording, no fingerprinting, and no third-party scripts of any kind.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- ask what personal information we hold about you, and get a copy of it;
- have inaccurate information corrected;
- ask us to delete information we no longer need;
- ask us to restrict how we use it while a concern is resolved;
- object to our processing where we rely on legitimate interests;
- ask for information you gave us in a portable form.

If you are unhappy
Please tell us first - most things are quicker to fix directly. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK's data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

If we change how we handle information, we will update this page and change the date at the top.
